Answer Definitions

• hometown^† (noun): An individual’s place of birth, childhood home, or place of main residence.
• townhome^† (noun): A townhouse or row house.
• emote (verb): To display or express (emotions, mental states, etc.) openly, particularly while acting, and especially in an excessive manner. To deliver (a speech), say (lines of a play, words), etc., in a dramatic or emotional manner, especially if overly so.
• entente (noun): An informal alliance or friendly understanding between two states.
• heme (noun): The component of hemoglobin (and other hemoproteins) responsible for binding oxygen. It consists of an iron ion that binds oxygen and a porphyrin ring that binds the globin molecules; one molecule binds one molecule of oxygen.
• hewn (adjective): Made or crafted by cutting, whittling down.
• home (noun): A dwelling. One’s own dwelling place; the house or structure in which one lives; especially the house in which one lives with one's family; the habitual abode of one’s family; also, one’s birthplace. The place where a person was raised; childhood or parental home; home of one’s parents or guardian. The abiding place of the affections, especially of the domestic affections. A house that has been made home-like, to suit the comfort of those who live there.
• hone (noun): A sharpening stone composed of extra-fine grit used for removing the burr or curl from the blade of a razor or some other edge tool.

• note (noun): A symbol or annotation. A mark or token by which a thing may be known; a visible sign; a character; a distinctive mark or feature; a characteristic quality. A mark, or sign, made to call attention, to point out something to notice, or the like; a sign, or token, proving or giving evidence. A brief remark; a marginal comment or explanation; hence, an annotation on a text or author; a comment; a critical, explanatory, or illustrative observation.
• omen (noun): Something which portends or is perceived to portend either a good or evil event or circumstance in the future, or which causes a foreboding; a portent or augury.
• teem (verb): To be stocked to overflowing.
• teen (noun): Synonym of teenager: a person between 13 and 19 years old.
